The Karioi Pulpmill and Tangiwai Sawmill production sites are close to the small yet well facilitated towns of Ohakune and Taihape. On the doorstep of Mount Ruapehu, Tongariro and Whanganui National Parks the area offers all things outdoors, snowsports, tramping, mountain biking, fishing and hunting to name a few. For the whanau, there are many educational options available from pre-school to secondary through Raetihi, Ohakune, Waiouru and Taihape. Well-being is supported by the many sports clubs such as rugby, netball, basketball and squash.
As smaller communities within rural New Zealand we offer both active and creative opportunity and a supportive network. Centrally located, halfway between Auckland and Wellington, the North Island’s main centres are an easy drive away. The national rail and bus networks service the area.
